The well-known Japanese maker of the highest quality ceramic tableware, Hakusan, sought out stones that can serve as handles for their large porcelain mugs. In order to solidly attach each natural piece of rock to the ceramic mug, a diamond-bit drill had to be used to make a hole in the rock.
